Sweet Devon
Kids really do grow up fast. Here are a few candid shots of Devon. He is an incredible reader and is on book #14 of the Magic Tree House chapter books. His other latest craze is Pokemon (the card game) which was introduced to him by an older friend from the ward. He already has memorized all the characters and what their powers are. He is an amazing little kid.
Texas Sized Storm/Tornado
You may have heard about the storm that passed through about a week and a half ago. It was pretty crazy and scary. At about 3:30 in the morning Stephenie and I both woke up to almost constant lightning, that would light up the whole house, and very loud rain and wind. Our power went out shortly after that before we had a chance to check the news. We heard sirens going off (which we later were told were the tornado sirens) and were not sure what to do. The kids amazingly slept through the whole ordeal but after talking to our neighbors and seeing the damage we realized we should have woken them up and taken shelter in the center closet of the house. The top picture is our fence and our neighbors fence. They have a full-size trampoline (you can see the mangled remnants in the background) which had blown a few houses away and knocked over another neighbor's fence. If you look closely in the 4th picture you can see a large section of fence that was carried up into the tree; that house is just a few blocks away from us. The rest of the pictures are from other nearby areas. There were houses missing large pieces of their roofs, tons of fences down, broken windows, uprooted and broken trees, and broken signs. It was quite the experience and we are grateful we were safe.
Devon Playing T-ball
Devon started T-ball this year and has been doing awesome. He played pitcher, catcher, and first base in yesterday's game. T-ball has many great moments as many of you may know. At one point in yesterday's game 3 of the 4 infielders were on the ground playing in the dirt, Devon was spinning around on the pitchers mound (apparently in his wind-up), and in last week's practice 4 of the kids chased a ball down in the outfield, dog-piled and wrestled for the ball, and then all got up and walked away leaving the ball right where it was :) It is a lot of fun to watch!

Family Trip to Houston
We are taking advantage of Jared's spring break this week. This last weekend we went down to Houston to see our good friends the Garthes. We loved Houston and had a great time. We caught this cool lizard and a frog in their backyard. The lizard got away from Ty and climbed up his shirt and jumped off onto his chair-I got this picture just in time to capture his reaction.
