Devon's Preschool Program

Devon's preschool class had an end of the year program last night. The kids said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the ABC's song, shared one of their favorite projects they had made this year and sang the Days of the Week song. Devon's job was to lead the Days of the Week song. The kids each received an award. Devon received an award for being a Terrific Student. They also displayed some of the projects that they had made this past month and then there were some yummy treats. I was very proud of Devon. We are sure lucky to have him in our lives! We are also lucky to have had such wonderful friends participating in our co-op preschool with us. We'll miss them lots when we move to Texas. Here are some pictures from the program.

Just before the Pledge of Allegiance started.

The kids received these glasses (the program theme was "You're a Star!") and a Baskin Robins coupon with their award.

Jared & Chad's Dental School Graduation Party

Here are some pictures from the graduation party that Christy and I threw for Jared and Chad this past Saturday. Christy and her mom really did everything, so THANK YOU! We had so much fun! The party was held at Christy's mom's house in La Cresenta. She has a beautiful home with an awesome backyard.

Here's a picture of the graduates that were at the party.

Devon and Mila in the pool. I think they were in the pool for at least 2 hours straight.

Los Gringos Locos catered the party. They served some yummy mexican food.

More cute pictures of Tyson

Tyson with his backpack and bike.

Tyson loves to dress up, especially when he can be a tough guy. Here is what he put together a few days ago - his baseball hat, Mr. Incredible mask and his cape that makes him feel like Superman.

which austen heroine are you?

I too took the Jane Austen character quiz and I am Elizabeth Bennet. I don't know how that happened, I am seriously nothing like her description below ("tremendously attractive" Ha Ha), except maybe for the part that says, "you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed." :) But I am happy that I got Elizabeth Bennet since Pride and Prejudice is my favorite movie and Elizabeth Bennet is my favorite character. Take the quiz to see who you are!
I am Elizabeth Bennet!
Take the Quiz here!

:: L I Z Z Y ::
You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of silliness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.

It's a Girl!

We are so excited to announce that we are expecting our third and we just found out this past week that it's a girl! We are all thrilled. Ever since we told Devon that mommy was pregnant he kept telling us that it was a girl. We would tell him that we weren't sure yet, that it could be a boy, but he would say so confidently, "I know it's a girl, it's not a boy". When I told the boys that we found out it was a girl Devon said, "I told you". This is actually an ultrasound photo from earlier on in the pregnancy, I just couldn't figure out how to scan a more recent photo. My due date is Oct. 23rd.

Now you know why we haven't updated our blog since mid-February. That's when I started to get real sick and everything was put on hold. Things are much better now and I can't wait to have another girl in the house to even out the current 3-1 count! We've updated our blog with some photos that were taken since mid-February, so make sure you see the rest of our posts from today to catch up.

Tyson's first plane ride

We made our first trip to Dallas as a family at the end of April. It was Tyson's first plane ride (if you don't count the plane ride we took when he was a few months old). Tyson and Devon did great! They especially loved the music they could listen to with the headsets we bought on the plane. We met Jared's parents in Texas and with the help of Stephenie's cousin that's a realtor, we found a beautiful home to rent while Jared is attending ortho school. We are so excited to finally get into a home! We were also able to spend lots of time with Stephenie's aunt, cousins and their families that live just a few miles away from where we will be moving. They are all so nice and Devon keeps asking me when he can see his new friends in Texas again.

The boys were so cute sleeping next to one another on the sofa bed at the hotel.

Here is Tyson playing baseball in the hotel room with the ball and bat that Grandma and Grandpa got for the boys. Tyson is really good at hitting the ball. As you can see in the picture, he always keeps his eye on the ball. :)

Long Beach Grand Prix

We got tickets to the Long Beach Grand Prix and it was a blast. There were several different races throughout the day. Tyson loved the "fast cars" and that is his favorite thing to talk about ever since. Our favorite race was the Drifters. They had several of the stunt car drivers from the movie "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and had a brand new custom blue Charger that we loved.

Happy Easter!

We spent Easter in Sacramento with Jared's family and in Modesto with Stephenie's family. In Sacramento we went to a large family Easter party where the kids were able to decorate cupcakes, color eggs, and hunt for easter eggs and goodies with large brown paper sacks - Grandma and Grandpa Corbridge got the boys easter baskets, but we soon found out they were much too small for all of the goodies that were hidden. Tyson won a prize for collecting the most real eggs!

This is Jared's beautiful family. Back row: Curtis (brother), Alicia, Kimble (dad), Janelle (sister), Linda (mom), she's holding Malachi - Eric's son, Darin, Stephenie, Jared and the boys and then on the ground is Eric (brother), Sierra and their other two boys, Jonas and Hadley.

The Easter bunny visited the boys in Modesto. He hid lots of goodies around Grandma Lewis' house and the boys had a blast finding everything.

Devon and the alphabet

Devon has always loved the alphabet. At his 2 year birthday he could tell you the letters of the alphabet along with their sounds. We have to give credit to the Leap Frog dvd called "The Letter Factory". Here is his picture of the letter factory with all of the letters, uppercase and lowercase, hanging in the letter factory. As you can see, some of the letters were erased by Tyson.

Devon is now reading and begining to write lots of words. The other day Devon got upset with Jared and I for disciplining him. He wrote a note and put it outside his door. Jared didn't see the note and went into Devon's room. When Jared went in Devon said "Dad, didn't you see the note!?" When Jared went back out the room, on the floor was Devon's note and it said "DONT COME IN THIS ROOM". We couldn't believe he could write that, and where did he get the idea? He's only 4 years old! I think we are going to have a lot of tough times ahead of us. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVON!

We celebrated Devon's 4 year birthday February 26th with a Spiderman party for Devon and his friends. It was lots of fun! We colored spiderman pictures, made candy spiders, had a web-walk game and a spiderman pinata.

Devon has so many wonderful friends here in LA. We're sure going to miss them when we move to Texas. Starting from the left is Claire, Bailey, Mila, Carter, Carson, Devon, Drew, Ava and Sydney.
