Back to School

Last week we got a call that Devon was accepted to a preschool that we had been on a waiting list for. Yeh! I was planning on teaching him at home since the few schools we wanted to send him to had long waiting lists but lucky for us he was accepted the day before the open house. He started this past Monday and is really enjoying it. He goes on Mon. and Wed. from 9-2, not too much, which is good for mom since I love having this little guy around. Devon is doing and learning lots of new things and making some great new friends.

Tyson sure wishes he could go to school like his big brother. Everytime we take or pick up Devon from preschool, Tyson has to take his lunch box with him and carry it in and out. He looks so cute! At the end of Sept. I will be starting a co-op preschool for Tyson with a few other kids and moms from here.

Our backyard friends

One of the boys new favorite things to do is catch the tiny grasshoppers in our backyard. They are getting really good at it. Especially Tyson, once he grabs on to those little hoppers he holds on real tight so they won't jump away. A few days ago he came to me and said "broken" while he was holding one part of the grasshopper in one hand and the other part in the other hand. Fortunately that is the only one that he has "broken". :) Here is a picture of Devon as a grasshopper is jumping out of his hands. We thought it was pretty funny. You will have to double click on the picture to actually see the grasshoppers since they are so tiny.

Swim Lessons

Devon had swim lessons the past two weeks. He did great and had lots of fun. He was very proud of his certificate.

Saturday Morning Bowling

Saturday morning we got up and decided to bowling. This was the first time for the boys and it was so much fun.

Neighborhood Party

Our neighbors across the street, the Beaney's, had us over for their son's birthday party. They invited lots of friends in the neighborhood and we all had a blast. They really know how to throw a party! They had waterslides, a slip n' slide, water gun fights, a water balloon toss, a treasure hunt, a few more games and they fed us some great Texas bbq. Here are a few picks from the party. The last pic is a perfect example of what Texas weather is like - it was really really hot for most of the party... you had to get wet to be able to stay outside, but then all of the sudden it started pouring rain. The kids of course continued to play outside even though it was raining.
