You may have heard about the storm that passed through about a week and a half ago. It was pretty crazy and scary. At about 3:30 in the morning Stephenie and I both woke up to almost constant lightning, that would light up the whole house, and very loud rain and wind. Our power went out shortly after that before we had a chance to check the news. We heard sirens going off (which we later were told were the tornado sirens) and were not sure what to do. The kids amazingly slept through the whole ordeal but after talking to our neighbors and seeing the damage we realized we should have woken them up and taken shelter in the center closet of the house. The top picture is our fence and our neighbors fence. They have a full-size trampoline (you can see the mangled remnants in the background) which had blown a few houses away and knocked over another neighbor's fence. If you look closely in the 4th picture you can see a large section of fence that was carried up into the tree; that house is just a few blocks away from us. The rest of the pictures are from other nearby areas. There were houses missing large pieces of their roofs, tons of fences down, broken windows, uprooted and broken trees, and broken signs. It was quite the experience and we are grateful we were safe.

That is crazy!! I'm just glad you guys are ok. I love the pictures of Devin. I remember the good old nursery days. He sure has grown up!
What in the world?! That's kind of a cool thing to experience (as long as there were no "owies"). We may have to rethink our plans to move to Texas!
